Vulcan, an American family-owned business based in Detroit, Michigan since 1959, has been committed to producing expertly designed load management equipment for everything from rail cars to race car trailers for over 60 years. The company's history of inventing trucking and towing technology has resulted in a team staffed with experts, and Vulcan's designs have been perfected over the better half of a century – an experience that no one can replicate.
Vulcan's journey began in 1959 when the Vulcan Chain Corporation sold chain to the trucking industry. By the mid-1960s, Vulcan had become the largest distributor of tow chains in the US. In 1995, the company worked with logistical engineers and trailer manufacturers to design the first strap used on a commercial vehicle for over-the-road transport, and Vulcan has continued to innovate, designing products for almost every application.
Vulcan is recognized as the original inventor of the car tie-down, and no other supplier can match the company's industry knowledge and experience. Professional truck, auto hauler, flatbed, and trailer operators choose Vulcan's auto tie-down systems to haul millions of cars every year, as these complete kits of axle straps and ratchet straps avoid scratching delicate rims or damaging the underbody of the vehicle. Vulcan's products are backed by 50 years of manufacturing expertise.
Vulcan's complete kits, available in various styles, including Silver, Classic, High-Viz, and PROSeries, feature flexible 1-ply, 2-inch-wide Vulcan Silver Series tie-down webbing that is thick and strong for excellent durability and long service life. Each strap includes a full-body Cordura wear pad for even more abrasion resistance, providing longer strap life and protecting the vehicle from inadvertent scratches. Industrial-grade ratchet buckles and end fittings are fully plated to resist the elements and provide dependable service in the field.
The kits include heavy-duty D-rings on the axle straps that easily accept snap hooks, grab hooks, T-hooks, or J-hooks, allowing users to loop the strap around any axle or through a rim and bring the D-rings back together. The wire J-hook ratchet straps can be used to apply tension to the axle straps and connect to almost any tie-down point, making these kits ideal for low-clearance applications.
Each strap in Vulcan's complete kits has a safe working load of 3,300 lbs. and meets DOT and CVSA specifications, allowing users to haul with confidence, knowing they are using products manufactured by the most trusted name in vehicle tie-downs for over 50 years.
